Riga Christmas market will open on November 28th

On November 28th, the Christmas market in the heart of the Old Town will open its doors and will operate until January 4, 2026. This will be the 25th edition of the market, which will create a true Christmas fairytale atmosphere, inviting everyone to embrace the festive spirit and enjoy a broad cultural programme. Visitors to the Dome Square will be able to admire and purchase products made by Latvian artisans and craftsmen, as well as savor various foods and beverages from more than 80 vendors.

The Christmas tree in the Dome Square will shine brightly from the moment the market opens on November 28th, while the official opening of the Riga Christmas market will take place on November 30th at 5 PM, followed by a concert from the 10th studio of the Dailes Theatre.

At the artisan and homemade goods stalls, visitors will be able to purchase woven items, wooden products and toys, knitted goods, amber and silver jewelry, games, decorations, leather products, candles, sheepskin items, as well as various foods and beverages such as honey, gingerbread, hemp products, meat products, jams, sauces, syrups, and both hot and cold drinks.

The market’s owner, Andris Kreislers, reveals: “The market is a place where every smile warms more than a mug of mulled wine, and every gingerbread whispers a story of Christmas wonder. If you believe, the festive tale begins right here – in the heart of Old Riga, where candle flames flicker alongside people’s eyes, and winter becomes the warmest season. Together with like-minded individuals, the market team has succeeded in placing Riga on the European map while preserving the special atmosphere of the Riga Christmas market and supporting Latvian artisans and craftsmen. I am truly honored to have the opportunity to bring the Christmas spirit to our beautiful Dome Square for 25 years.
