From Folk Music to Jazz – Cultural Program from December 12 to 14

In the heart of Old Riga, at Dome Square, residents and visitors continue to enjoy the Riga Christmas Market. At the market, visitors can view and purchase creations by Latvian home producers and craftsmen, enjoy a rich cultural programme, and experience togetherness in a festive atmosphere. From December 12 to 14, various concerts, dances, and folk dancing sessions are planned as part of the market’s cultural programme.

On Friday, December 12, from 20:00 to 23:00, DJ Kārlis Zariņš invites everyone to move along to dance rhythms.

On Saturday, December 13, the stage of the Riga Christmas Market will host the children’s vocal ensemble “Pumpuriņi” and the children’s vocal ensemble “Nāriņa” at 13:00; the Children’s Studio “Kukaiņi” at 14:00; and the folk group “Trejupe” at 15:00. At 16:00 everyone is invited to dance together with the Riga Dance Club, and at 17:00 the folklore group “Oglīte” will perform. In the evening at 20:00 Tīnūžu Šķībais Choir will sing, and at 21:00 the Enriko Corvison Jazz Quartet will bring the sound of jazz music.

On Sunday, December 14, at 13:00, the youngest group of the children’s vocal ensemble “Tī Mažors” will take the stage, followed by the older group at 14:00. At 15:00, the Children’s Pop Studio “Kukuragi” will perform. At 17:00, visitors can enjoy a concert by students of Salaspils School of Music and Art, and at 19:00 the duo ErdmaneKronbergs will perform.

Meeting the elves: Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 18:00.
Elves’ workshop: Saturday from 11:00 to 12:00.
